Financial Management Forums, Inc recognize that, in a society where the use of personal information is rapidly expanding, the protection of such information is essential for maintaining trust with our client companies. When we are entrusted with personal information by our clients, we commit to ensuring, as an organization, that such information is not lost or leaked. All employees work together under the following basic policy to strictly enforce the protection of personal information.
Privacy Policy
- We comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Act No. 57 of May 30, 2003) and other relevant laws and regulations.
- In our business activities, such as planning and operating seminars, it is necessary to appropriately collect and use personal information. Accordingly, we establish and adhere to compliance rules in our efforts to protect personal information.
- When collecting personal information, we will inform individuals in advance of the purpose of collection and use, and obtain their consent. We will handle the acquired personal information in accordance with clearly defined purposes and use it only within the scope of those purposes.
- We strive to take the best possible preventive and corrective measures to avoid risks such as unauthorized access, destruction, alteration, loss, or leakage of personal information.
- We ensure that all individuals involved in our business are thoroughly informed of the proper handling of personal information, and we provide necessary supervision and training.
- If a customer requests to confirm, correct, or modify their provided personal information, we will respond promptly after verifying their identity.
Article 1: Definition of Personal Information
"Personal information" refers to "personal information" as defined under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, and means information relating to a living individual which can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact details, or other descriptions contained in such information, as well as data related to facial features, fingerprints, and voiceprints, and insurer numbers on health insurance cards and other information that can identify a specific individual by itself (personally identifiable information).
Article 2: Methods of Collecting Personal Information
We may ask users to provide personal information such as their name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver’s license number when they register to use the services.In addition, we may collect transaction records and payment-related information, including users’ personal information, from the our business partners (including information providers, advertisers, advertising distribution partners, etc.; hereinafter referred to as “Partners”) regarding transactions conducted between the user and such Partners.
Article 3: Purpose of Use of Personal Information
Purposes of Collection and Use of Personal Information
- To provide and operate the our services (including providing information to instructors as necessary for seminars)
- For authentication, management, administrative communication, and feature provision related to membership information for our services
- To respond to user inquiries (including identity verification)
- To send emails regarding new features, updates, campaigns, and information about other services provided by us related to the services the user is using
- To contact users as necessary for maintenance or important notices
- To identify and deny use to users who violate the Terms of Use or attempt to use the services for fraudulent or improper purposes
- To allow users to view, modify, or delete their registration information and view their usage status
- To bill users for paid services
- For access analysis and behavioral analysis of the website
- For the delivery, display, and measurement of the effectiveness of advertisements
- To analyze obtained browsing and purchase history and use it in advertisements related to new products and services tailored to users’ preferences and interests
- For purposes incidental to the above-mentioned purposes
Article 4: Use of Access Logs and Behavioral Data
- We analyze information such as website browsing history and purchase history obtained from users to provide services and deliver advertisements.
- We may use information on users’ preferences and browsing history obtained from third parties in conjunction with personal information already held by us. In such cases, we will obtain the user’s prior consent and use the information only within the scope of the purposes of use specified by us.
- "Cookies" refer to technologies used to record and manage information about users of our website on their computers or software applications. We uses cookies to improve the convenience of users when using our website.
- We also use tools such as "Google Analytics," an access analysis service provided by Google, and "Google Ads," a third-party advertising service. These services utilize cookies to provide content and advertisements tailored to users’ interests. While cookies enable the identification of a user’s computer, they do not allow us to identify individual users.
Article 5: Changes to Purpose of Use
- We may change the purpose of use of personal information only when it is reasonably recognized that the new purpose is related to the original purpose.
- When the purpose of use has been changed, we shall notify the user of the revised purpose by a method prescribed by us or publicly announce it on this website.
Article 6: Provision to Third Parties

Except in the following cases, we will not provide personal information to third parties without the prior consent of the user,unless permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other applicable laws and regulations:
1) When it is necessary for the protection of a person's life, body, or property, and obtaining the consent of the individual is difficult;
2) When it is particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound growth of children, and obtaining the consent of the individual is difficult;
3) When it is necessary to cooperate with a national government agency, local government, or an entity entrusted by such bodies in executing affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining the individual’s consent may hinder the execution of such affairs;
4) When the third party is an academic research institution and it is necessary for the third party to handle the personal data for academic research purposes (including cases where part of the purpose is academic research), provided such handling does not unduly infringe upon the rights and interests of the individual;
5) When we have notified or publicly announced the following items in advance and have submitted the required notification to the Personal Information Protection Commission;
- That the purpose of use includes provision to third parties
- The types of data to be provided
- The means or method of provision
- That provision to third parties will be stopped upon request by the individual
- The method for the individual to request cessation of provision to third parties -
Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the following cases shall not be considered as provision of personal information to a third party:
1) When we entrust all or part of the handling of personal information to a third party within the scope necessary to achieve the intended purpose of use.
2) When personal information is provided in connection with the succession of business due to a merger or other reasons.
3) When personal information is used jointly with a specific party, and the individual is notified in advance or the information is made readily accessible to the individual regarding: the fact of joint use, the items of personal information to be jointly used, the scope of parties involved in the joint use, the purpose of use by those parties, and the name or title of the party responsible for the management of the personal information.
Article 7: Disclosure of Personal Information

When we receive a request from an individual for the disclosure of their personal information, we will respond without delay. However, if the disclosure falls under any of the following circumstances, we may choose not to disclose all or part of the information. In such cases, we will promptly notify the individual of our decision not to disclose. A handling fee of JPY 10,000 will be charged per request for the disclosure of personal information.
1) If there is a risk of harm to the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the individual or a third party
2) If there is a significant risk of hindering the proper execution of our business operations
3) If it would result in a violation of laws or regulations - Notwithstanding the above, we generally do not disclose information that does not constitute personal information, such as browsing history or attribute data.
Article 8: Management of Personal Information
We take security measures and implement necessary and appropriate safeguards to prevent the leakage, loss, misuse, or alteration of personal information under our control. Personal information is stored in a secure environment that is not accessible to general users.
- We make every effort to ensure that the information provided to us is accurate and up to date at all times.
- Information is entrusted only to contractors who meet our requirements and only within the scope of the stated purpose of use, and is managed appropriately.
- Information provided to us is stored in accordance with our prescribed procedures and is promptly disposed of when it is no longer needed.
Article 9: Correction and Deletion of Personal Information
- If a user believes that their personal information held by us is inaccurate, they may request correction, addition, or deletion (hereinafter referred to as “correction, etc.”) in accordance with the procedures prescribed by us.
- If we determine that it is necessary to respond to such a request, we will promptly make the necessary correction, etc. to the relevant personal information.
- When we make a correction, etc. based on the preceding paragraph, or decide not to do so, we will promptly notify the user of our decision.
Article 10: Suspension of Use
- If we receive a request from an individual to suspend the use of or delete their personal information (hereinafter referred to as “suspension of use, etc.”) on the grounds that it is being handled beyond the scope of the stated purpose of use, or that it was obtained through improper means, we will promptly conduct the necessary investigation.
- Based on the results of the investigation, if we determine that it is necessary to comply with the request, we will promptly carry out the suspension of use, etc. of the relevant personal information.
- When we implement the suspension of use, etc. based on the preceding paragraph, or decide not to do so, we will promptly notify the user of our decision.
- Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, if the suspension of use, etc. requires significant cost or is otherwise difficult to implement, and if alternative measures necessary to protect the user’s rights and interests can be taken, we will implement such alternative measures.
Article 11: Changes to the Privacy Policy
- We may revise the content of this Policy without prior notice to users, except as otherwise provided by laws and regulations or in this Policy.
- Unless otherwise specified by us, the revised Privacy Policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on this website.
